Chester Butcheries’ Stokvel system is a community-based savings plan that allows groups of people to pool their money together to save towards specific goals, often for bulk meat purchases. Here’s how it works:

Save as individual..here’s how

• Visit your Chester store
• Bring your ID
• Bring your first deposit of preferably a minimum of R50
• You can deposit weekly or monthly

Save as group..here’s how

• If you wish to open the account as a group of five or more people, at least three members of the group will have to be physically present to open the account and must have their IDs with them.
• You can contribute weekly or monthly.

Are you less than five people? 

Only one person’s ID number and contact details is needed.

Please note that only named members are eligible to redeem Stokvel accounts. Each member can contribute a different amount, with a minimum of R50 per person. It is the responsibility of each group to keep track of individual contributions. The balance on the card will be reflected as a cumulative total.

Simply visit the Chester store where your account was originally opened, and bring your ID along with your deposit slips to receive your new Chester Champion Stokvel Card.
