The following terminology applies to these Terms and Conditions, Privacy Statement and Disclaimer Notice and all Agreements: “Client”, “You” and “Your” refers to you, the person log on this website and compliant to the The Chester Group terms and conditions. “The Company”, “Ourselves”, “We”, “Our” and “Us”, refers to our Company. “Party”, “Parties”, or “Us”, refers to both the Client and ourselves. All terms refer to the offer, acceptance and consideration of payment necessary to undertake the process of our assistance to the Client in the most appropriate manner for the express purpose of meeting the Client’s needs in respect of provision of the Company’s stated services, in accordance with and subject to, prevailing law of Netherlands. Any use of the above terminology or other words in the singular, plural, capitalisation and/or he/she or they, are taken as interchangeable and therefore as referring to same.

If you are one of the organisations listed in paragraph 2 above and are interested in linking to our website, you must inform us by sending an e-mail to The Chester Group. Wait 2-3 weeks for a response.

Approved organisations may hyperlink to our Website as follows:

  • By use of our corporate name; or

No use of The Chester Group’s logo or other artwork will be allowed for linking absent a trademark license agreement.

We shall not be held responsible for any content that appears on your Website. You agree to protect and defend us against all claims that are rising on your Website. Reservation of Rights

We reserve the right to request that you remove all links or any particular link to our Website. You approve of removing all links to our Website upon request immediately. We also reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions, and it’s linking policy at any time. By continuously linking to our Website, you agree to be bound to and follow these linking terms and conditions.

Removal of links from our website

If you find any link on our Website that is offensive for any reason, you are free to contact and inform us any moment. We will consider requests to remove links, but we are not obligated to or so or to respond to you directly.

We do not ensure that the information on this website is correct, we do not warrant its completeness or accuracy; nor do we promise to ensure that the website remains available or that the material on the website is kept up to date.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we exclude all representations, warranties and conditions relating to our website and the use of this website. Nothing in this disclaimer will:

As long as the website and the information and services on the website are provided free of charge, we will not be liable for any loss or damage of any nature.

Chester Champions Stokvel Program: Terms and Conditions

 

1. Eligibility and Participation

1.1. The Chester Champions Stokvel Program is available to both individuals and groups wishing to open a stokvel account.

1.2. Participants may join as either:
• An individual.
• A group of five (5) or more members.

 

2. Group Participation

2.1. For a group account consisting of five (5) or more members, at least three (3) members must be physically present at the time of opening the account.

2.2. Each member present must bring a valid ID document to the store.

2.3. For a group of fewer than five (5) people, only one (1) group member’s ID number and contact details will be required to open the account.

2.4. All members listed in the account must be named at the time of registration, as only named members are eligible to redeem stokvel vouchers.

 

3. Individual Participation

3.1. Individuals may also participate in the Stokvel Program.

3.2. The same rules apply for individuals: the participant must be physically present with a valid ID and a minimum deposit of R50 to open the account.

 

4. Contributions and Payments

4.1. Each member, whether part of a group or an individual, can contribute different amounts into the stokvel account.

4.2. The minimum contribution amount per person is R50.

4.3. Upon making each deposit, the store will provide a receipt/slip to the contributor. This slip serves as proof of the contribution and should be kept for record-keeping purposes.

4.4. Once a deposit is made at the till, it cannot be reversed, and payment of the transaction cannot be stopped.

 

5. Account Redemption, Cards, and Vouchers

5.1. Cards: Upon opening an account, each member or key member of a group will be issued a stokvel card linked to their account.

5.2. PIN Code: Each card will be protected by a unique 4-digit PIN code. The cardholder must remember their PIN, as it will be required for redeeming stokvel funds. Chester Butcheries will not be held liable for any losses due to PIN-related issues.

5.3. Lost/Stolen Cards: If a customer loses a card, it will be replaced for a fee of R20, provided they know their PIN and provide a valid affidavit. The incident must be reported as soon as possible via the Chester Butcheries support WhatsApp chat at 069 970 5129 to block the card.

5.4. Redemption: Only the members named on the stokvel account are authorized to redeem any stokvel vouchers or benefits. No third-party redemptions will be allowed unless the third party is a named member of the account.

5.5. The stokvel card cannot be used to draw cash, make ATM withdrawals, or get cash back from any store.

5.6. After every purchase, ensure you receive your card and receipt back from the cashier.

5.7. You cannot use the stokvel card to purchase goods online or for services over the phone.

5.8. Stokvel savings can be used at any Chester Butchery store.

5.9. If funds on the stokvel card are not used for a period of three (3) years, the remaining value will not be refunded.

5.10. You will not earn interest on the funds deposited into your stokvel account or card.

 

6. Marketing and Data Use

6.1. By participating in the Chester Champions Stokvel Program, participants agree that Chester Butcheries may use their contact details and account information for marketing purposes within the Chester Group of businesses.

6.2. Chester Butcheries reserves the right to contact stokvel members regarding promotions, special offers, or any other marketing-related communications.

 

7. General

7.1. By opening a Chester Champions Stokvel account, participants agree to comply with these terms and conditions.

7.2. Chester Butcheries reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. All updates will be communicated to existing stokvel members.

7.3. You are responsible for keeping track of the transactions on the stokvel card.

 

8.Account Closure and Cancellation

8.1. Stokvel accounts may be closed at the request of the account holder by providing written notice to Chester Butcheries. 

8.2. Chester Butcheries reserves the right to close an account due to inactivity for a period of 12 months or breach of these terms and conditions. 

8.3. Upon account closure, any remaining funds will be lost

 

9.Dispute Resolution

9.1. Any disputes arising from the Chester Champions Stokvel Program must first be addressed in writing to Chester Butcheries. 

9.2. If a resolution cannot be reached, the matter will be escalated to an independent arbitrator appointed by Chester Butcheries, whose decision will be final and binding. 

9.3. Any legal proceedings will be handled in accordance with South African law.  

9.4. Each party shall bear its own legal costs, including attorney’s fees, court costs, and any other expenses incurred in connection with the dispute resolution or legal proceedings.

 

10.Fraud Prevention and Account Monitoring

10.1. Chester Butcheries reserves the right to monitor transactions and flag any suspicious activity for investigation. 

10.2. If fraudulent activity is suspected, the account may be temporarily frozen while an investigation is conducted. 

10.3. Chester Butcheries will not be liable for any delays or disruptions in service caused by fraud prevention measures.

 

11.Limitations of Liability

11.1. Chester Butcheries (Pty) Ltd, its directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential losses arising from the use, misuse, or inability to use the stokvel card or account, whether due to unauthorized access, technical failures, or participant error. 

11.2. Chester Butcheries is not responsible for any delays or failures caused by third parties, technical systems, or circumstances beyond its control, including but not limited to natural disasters, strikes, or power outages. 

11.3. The safekeeping of the stokvel card, PIN, and account information is the sole responsibility of the participant. Chester Butcheries will not be liable for any losses due to the participant’s failure to secure this information. 

11.4. Chester Butcheries makes no guarantees, express or implied, regarding the performance or suitability of the stokvel program for any particular purpose. Under no circumstances shall Chester Butcheries be liable for any losses, damages, or claims arising from participation in the stokvel program.

 

12.Member Conduct

12.1. Stokvel members are expected to act in good faith and treat other members, as well as Chester Butcheries staff, with respect. 

12.2. Any member found engaging in fraudulent activities, abusive behavior, or any activity that negatively impacts the stokvel program may have their account suspended or terminated.

 

13.POPIA Consent

13.1. By participating in the Chester Champions Stokvel Program, you consent to Chester Butcheries (Pty) Ltd collecting, processing, and storing your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), No. 4 of 2013. 

13.2. The personal information collected will be used solely for the purposes of administering the stokvel account, communicating with participants, and providing relevant marketing information, unless you have opted out of receiving marketing communications. 

13.3. Chester Butcheries commits to taking reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access or disclosure. 

13.4. Your personal information will not be shared with third parties without your prior consent, except where required by law or for the purposes of fulfilling our obligations to you under this agreement. 

13.5. You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information by contacting Chester Butcheries in writing. 

13.6. Should you withdraw your consent for Chester Butcheries to process your personal information, this may affect your ability to continue participating in the stokvel program.
